1. Overview

UK Convert ("we", "us") runs free calculators and converters at ukconvert.com. This policy explains what information we process, how we use it, and your rights under UK GDPR and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).

The short version: every tool runs entirely in your browser. The numbers you type are never sent to our servers — because there is no server-side processing. This site is static and privacy-first by design.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

• Your calculations. Nothing you enter into a tool (amounts, units, salaries, property prices) leaves your device.
• Accounts or profiles. We have no signup, so we hold no names, email addresses or passwords.
• Personal data you type. No form on this site transmits your inputs to us.

3. Information Stored On Your Device (Local Storage)

We use your browser's local storage — not cookies — to remember two things:

• Your favourites — the tools you star, so the list persists between visits. Stored only on your device.
• Your consent choice — whether you accepted or declined analytics and advertising cookies (stored for 365 days).

Local storage never leaves your browser. You can clear it at any time in your browser settings.

4. Analytics (Google Analytics 4)

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand aggregate traffic — which tools are used and where visitors come from. This helps us decide what to build next.

• IP addresses are anonymised (anonymize_ip).
• Consent Mode v2: analytics cookies are set only after you click "Accept" on the cookie banner. By default — and if you click "Decline" — we receive only cookieless, aggregated statistics with no analytics cookies stored.
• Your consent choice is remembered for 365 days.

5. Advertising (Google AdSense)

We may display ads served by Google and its partners. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.

• Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to ukconvert.com and/or other sites on the internet.
• You may opt out of personalised advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
• Alternatively, you can opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalised advertising at www.aboutads.info.

Because we collect almost no personal data, most of these rights are simple to honour — clearing your browser data removes the only things stored on your device.

• Local storage — retained on your device until you clear it.
• Analytics — anonymised aggregates are governed by Google's retention settings.
• Consent record — stored locally for 365 days, then you are asked again.
